The Lapeer Alumni Association met for their luncheon on Tuesday, June 9 at the Elks Lodge for some fellowship and fun.The June luncheon is also the time that the Alumni Association hands scholarship money to three deserving graduates of Lapeer Community Schools.
Ashlee Eisinger was the recipient at Lapeer East, Marguerite Mitchell was the Lapeer West scholarship winner and Melina Nelson received the scholarship at Lapeer Community High School.
Scholarships this year were made possible through the proceeds of the sale of Hollis Hayes' book, "On the Street at Nine." Mr. Hayes donated all the proceeds from his book to the scholarship fund.
