About 400 Lapeer East High School students showed up at 4 a.m. to fill the gymnasium with bodies, spirit, food and donations to assist the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan. Between cash and food donations the students and Lapeer East High School donated more than 33,000 pounds of food to the Food Bank, nearly double the amount from last year's event.Talent show winners and the East teachers "Mock Rock" group warmed up the crowd for the television show.
