The Lapeer Community Schools Board of Education has selected two finalists in its selection process to name a new superintendent for the District.
The finalists are Bethany Rayl, currently acting superintendent and assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction at Clio Area Schools, and Matthew Wandrie, currently director of human resources at Dearborn Public Schools.
The board narrowed the field of candidates from more than 40 applicants to six for the first round of interviews and completed the second round of interviews with three candidates on Thursday, March 10.
It is anticipated that the new superintendent will begin working for the District on July 1, replacing current Superintendent Debbie Thompson who is retiring after serving the district for the last six years as its superintendent.
